Composer: Semih Korucu
Instrumentation: Piano and Viola
Era: 21st Century
Description: These four pieces are stories. They embody the images of a story, imitating, emulating the mind and soul of a child. Without swanking, boasting or trying to show-off, just as naive as child. They exist between fantasy and reality and each of them offers a simple plainness in a poetic way. They were all conceived as lullabies. My intention is to point out through this music some special abilities possessed by children. Such as the sbility of putting one’s self in someone else's shoes. I would like to show that children are absolutely great at it and much more talented than grown ups.åäÌÝåÂAnd I ask: How and where did we lose this ability? Did we leave it intentionally?åäÌÝåÂNext I asked myself, do we have any idea about what can be missed or lost without this ability ? Have we ever thought about it?
